Officer James Sanford joined the Mississippi State University Police Department in September 2007. He is a 1997 graduate of Winston Academy in Louisville, Ms. After high school; Officer Sanford attended East Central Community College and then East Mississippi Community College where in 2001 he graduated with an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Forest Technology. Later, Officer Sanford attended Mississippi State University where he graduated in 2005 with a Bachelors Degree in Interdisplinary Studies with a Certificate in Criminal Justice and Corrections. He is also a 2007 graduate of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy in Pearl, Ms.
In his spare time, Officer Sanford enjoys hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, and water-skiing.
