New as of 2023, MSU Police Dept. developed a team of highly skilled officers to respond to critical incidents for campus. This team completes extra trainings outside of the required trainings for all officers. The SRT is trained to handle situations involving:
- Active Shooters
- Barricaded Suspects
- Hostage Rescue
- Counter Terrorism
- VIP Protection
- High-Risk Arrests
- Sniper Incidents
